Troubleshoot connection issues

This article provides a guide on troubleshooting the connectivity between your SmartTimer and mobile device. Follow the steps in this article if you are experiencing any of the following issues:

  • Your SmartTimer keeps disconnecting
  • You connected your SmartTimer to your phone in the Bluetooth settings and not via the ONNOA SmartTimer App
  • You have followed the steps to pair your SmartTimer, but the issue persists, and your device will not pair

Before beginning

Your SmartTimer can only be connected to one device at a time. If you have connected it to another device, turn off Bluetooth on that device to avoid issues with pairing. If you’ve ever connected a SmartTimer to your phone via the Bluetooth settings, forget that connection in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.

Troubleshooting the Connection (Android)

If your SmartTimer isn’t connecting properly, follow the steps below to reset your device and restore a clean connection.

For Android Devices:

1. Force stop the ONNOA SmartTimer app

  • Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > ONNOA SmartTimer
  • Tap Force Stop

2. Clear app storage

  • Settings > Apps > ONNOA SmartTimer > Storage
  • Tap Clear Storage

3. Forget previous Bluetooth connections

  • Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings
  • Tap Forget or Unpair for any previously connected SmartTimers

4. Reset network settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options
  • Select Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth or Network Settings
  • Confirm with Reset

5. Completely power off your phone (not just restart), wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.

6. Open the ONNOA SmartTimer app and tap the Bluetooth icon

  • Select your SmartTimer from the list
  • Make sure the SmartTimer is charged and turned on
  • If needed, perform a manual reset on the SmartTimer (see Reset guide)

Troubleshooting the Connection (iOS)

If your SmartTimer isn’t connecting properly, follow the steps below to reset your device and restore a clean connection.

For IOS Devices:

1. Uninstall the app

  • Tap and hold the ONNOA SmartTimer app icon → Tap Remove App

2. Forget previous Bluetooth connections

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth
  • Tap the info icon (ⓘ) next to any connected SmartTimer and select “Forget This Device” — if you previously connected it via your phone’s Bluetooth settings.

3. Reset network settings (not available on all iPhones)

  • Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings

4. Completely power off your iPhone, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.

5. Reinstall the ONNOA SmartTimer app from the App Store

  • Open the app, tap the Bluetooth icon, and select your SmartTimer
  • Ensure your SmartTimer is charged and turned on
  • If needed, perform a manual reset on the SmartTimer

Optional Step: Try another device

If the SmartTimer still doesn’t connect, please try pairing it with a different device (another phone, tablet, or MacBook). This helps confirm whether the issue lies with your original device.
