The SmartTimer pairs automatically! Please do not pair or rename it via your phone’s Bluetooth settings, as this may cause connection issues.
For wireless pairing with Sony cameras, open the app, tap the Bluetooth icon, and follow the instructions.

Ensure your camera is in manual focus or increase the Focus Delay under "Trigger Settings" (e.g., set it to 800ms/0.8s). Also, double-check the cable connection and pairing.

We carefully double-check every order to ensure you receive the correct cable. However, since each order is packed by hand, mistakes can occasionally happen.
A quick search can help you identify the correct remote port and verify whether the cable is compatible:
Simply search for your camera model together with “remote port”.
If you need another cable, please note that we use standard remote trigger cables. You can easily purchase a compatible one from any local supplier by searching for your camera model together with “remote shutter release cable”.
Alternatively, you can order the cable directly from our website: onnoa.de/cable
You can order additional cables at:

The lightning trigger is built directly into the SmartTimer. It uses an integrated sensor together with additional internal hardware, so no external trigger or accessory is required. Everything you need is included in the SmartTimer’s compact and lightweight design. You can simply find and activate it on the home screen of the app once your SmartTimer is connected.
Wireless mode currently works with all newer Sony and Canon cameras.
To pair your camera wirelessly:
Open the app and tap the Bluetooth icon.
Select your camera from the list at the bottom.
If your camera does not appear:
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your camera.
Check that Remote Trigger / External Remote is enabled in your camera settings.
If you experience connection issues:
Tap the (i) icon next to the camera selection in the app and reset the wireless connections.
Perform the same wireless reset in your camera’s Bluetooth/Wireless settings.
Restart both devices and pair again.
⚠️ Important:
Only one device can be connected to your camera at a time.
If your phone (or another device) was previously or simultaneously connected to the camera, pairing may fail. In this case, please reset all wireless connections and pair again.
Unfortunately, Nikon does not currently allow third-party wireless connections, so wireless triggering is not supported on Nikon cameras at this time.
The SmartTimer does not have a physical power button, and there is no need to manually turn it on or off. We designed it to be as seamless as possible.
When not in use or when the app is closed, the SmartTimer automatically enters a deep-sleep mode, consuming almost no power. To wake it up, simply open the app.
If the battery is fully drained, a quick 10-minute charge is usually enough for most shoots. Even with just 10% battery remaining, the SmartTimer can last more than a full day of shooting.
No, the timelapse runs completely independently on the SmartTimer.
Your phone does not need to stay connected—you can turn it off or switch to another phone while the sequence is running.
You can reconnect with any phone at any time to view, edit, or stop the current timelapse.
The app notifies you when a firmware update is available. Follow the instructions to update the SmartTimer. Please ensure the app itself is also up-to-date via the App Store or Google Play.
No account or registration is required. You can use the app with a SmartTimer or SmartTimer Pro.
